About 

Md. Shafiqul Islam has about 8 years’ experience as an environmental and GIS expert in different International and national projects funded by Bangladesh Government, JICA, World Bank/IFC, AIIB, KFW, MIGA, and ADB.

Having great expertise in IEE, EIA & ESIA, Environmental monitoring, Natural resources management, Ecosystem service valuation, landscape ecology, Spatial planning and modeling, Environmental Audits, Supervision, Hazard/vulnerability/Risk assessment, Disaster/risk/emergency management plan, supervision of Water, Air, Noise, Sediment and Soil Sampling, FGD, KII, Public Consultation, Stakeholder mapping, Report writing.

Having strong data analysis and computational capabilities with different Environmental System Assessment software such as;

• ARCGIS, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, ENVI, TERRSET (Geospatial analysis and modeling).

• Google Earth Engine (GEE) for geospatial analysis

• SoundPLAN (Noise Modeling),

• ALOHA (Risk Assessment),

• AERMOD (Air Quality modeling),

• SWMM (Storm Water Management Model),

• HEC-RAS (River analysis System, Flood Inundation Modeling)

• Python for data analysis, data processing, and visualization

• SPSS for statistical analysis, modeling, and visualization

Possess strong command on developing projects proposal, Project Management, Documentation, strong communication, and presentation skills. Expert to use both qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques, excellent data analysis skills. 

He has over 15 research publications in International Journals and International Conference Proceedings on the Environment and Natural Resources Management. He has received several trainings on different environmental and social issues.
