Dr. Bijoy has made contributions to biodiversity conservation, especially in the field of Insect Taxonomy. He has experience in entomology research which begins with his Doctoral Programme on the taxonomy of Ceraphronoidea (Hymenoptera: Insecta) in 2010 at the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Calicut and spans over the last 11 years. Meanwhile, he completed a MoEFCC project “Biosystematics studies of two little known superfamilies’ of Hymenoptera (Cynipoidea and Ceraphronoidea) of Southern Western Ghats”. Since 2017, he is working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Christ College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda and as a Research Guide under the University of Calicut, guiding 4 PhD students on Taxonomy, ecology biodiversity conservation of groups like bees, cuckoo wasps, antlions and grasshoppers of Kerala. He is the current Biodiversity coordinator of the College. Dr. Bijoy described 10 new species of insects to science and reported many insects new to the Western Ghats and India and a Pteromalid wasp was named after him.

Achievements

Christ College Research Seed Fund Award in 2020.
Selected as FLAIR fellow under DCE of Kerala for two consecutive years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.
Qualified both ICAR and CSIR National Eligibility Tests.
Completed PhD in Zoology (Entomology) in the year 2015 from ZSI, Calicut.
Conferred with the best presentation award in two National and one International seminar (Annual Congress on Entomology held at Peradeniya University, Sri Lanka) during 2014-2015 period.
Awarded JRF and SRF under the Ministry of Environment and Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) with the first rank in all India level in 2010.
