Shadows in the Midnight Garden

This website is much smaller than Come Into My Parlor, and it is for various topics related to literature, film, and more.  Whether it is a novel or a film, the connections between fact and fiction are one aspect of storytelling I am fascinated with.

For example, I am thinking of writing about a film that was very popular when I was in my early teens, Dirty Dancing.  Yes, you read that right.  Getting the film made at all is a fascinating story on its own.  But did you know there were real-life inspirations for some of the people and events in the film as well as where it was set?  Even weirder is the fact that since watching the film at the time it was new, I had this impression that there was some real-life influence in the story the film tells.  Now, how'd that happen?

I don't know.  But this idea is an example of the type of content I write and create that this website is for.  Why?  Because it turns out my ancestors really did fight in the Revolutionary War so we could sit here and talk about Disneyland.
