Shadow Ban Filter is a Chrome extension that filters and hides content from websites. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (almost none) and how your information is handled.
Shadow Ban Filter does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information.
• We do not track your browsing history or the websites you visit.
• We do not monitor, log, or transmit any page content.
• We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts.
• We do not collect usage statistics.
• We do not use cookies.
All extension settings — including your banned words, blocked sites, filter preferences, focus mode configurations, and scheduled blocks — are stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync API. This data syncs only to your own Chrome profile via your Google account and is never accessible to us or any third party.
Shadow Ban Filter runs entirely within your Chrome browser. The extension does not communicate with any external server. There is no backend, no API, and no cloud service. All filtering and content modification happens locally on your device.
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
• storage — To save your filter settings locally.
• activeTab — To apply filter updates to the current tab when you change settings.
• Host permissions (all URLs) — To run the content filtering script on all websites, which is required for the word filter and site blocker to function across all sites you visit.
Shadow Ban Filter does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services, advertising networks, analytics providers, or data brokers.
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
