Effective date: August 11, 2026
ShadeType (the “App”) is provided by Czechner Ince EV (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use its screen privacy, accessibility, per-app settings, and premium features.
Secret Writing is designed to work locally on your Android device.
We do not create user accounts.
We do not operate a server that receives App data.
We do not use advertising SDKs.
We do not use analytics, tracking, profiling, or session replay.
We do not read, collect, store, or transmit what you type.
We do not sell personal information.
The App does not read, record, store, or transmit:
keystrokes;
messages or other text you enter;
passwords or payment information;
clipboard contents;
screenshots; or
the contents of text fields.
The privacy veil is a visual overlay. It does not require access to the text being entered.
The App uses an Android Accessibility Service solely to:
detect whether the on-screen keyboard is visible;
determine the keyboard’s screen position;
detect which app is currently in the foreground so user-selected per-app rules can be applied; and
show or remove the privacy control at the appropriate time.
While operating, the service may temporarily process Android window metadata, including window type, window bounds, and the foreground app’s package name. This information is processed locally and in real time.
The Accessibility Service does not inspect or extract page content, text field content, keystrokes, passwords, messages, or other information displayed inside another app.
Foreground app package names are not retained unless you explicitly select an app for a per-app preference, such as “Auto veil” or “Skip this app.”
The premium per-app settings screen requests a local list of launchable applications installed on the device. The list is used only to let you choose apps for:
automatic veil activation; or
exclusion from the overlay.
The App does not upload or share your installed-app list. Only the package names you select are stored in the App’s private local preferences.
The App stores the following preferences locally on your device:
veil opacity, color, and style;
privacy control position and size;
animation speed;
selected per-app rules;
start-after-restart preference;
whether the privacy service was armed; and
premium unlock status.
These preferences are stored using Android private application storage. Depending on your Android backup settings and device configuration, Android may include App preferences in a device or cloud backup managed by your operating system or account provider.
Premium purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card or banking information.
The App uses Google Play Billing to:
display the price configured for your country and currency;
start the purchase flow;
verify whether the premium product is owned; and
acknowledge a completed purchase.
Google may process purchase information, account identifiers, device information, and payment information according to the Google Privacy Policy and Google Play terms. The App stores only a local indication that premium access has been unlocked.
The App may request interface fonts through the Google Play Services downloadable-font provider. Google Play Services may process technical information required to provide the font according to Google’s own privacy terms. We do not receive this information.
The App may request or use the following Android permissions and system capabilities:
Display over other apps: displays the privacy veil and keyboard control.
Accessibility Service: detects keyboard visibility, keyboard bounds, and the foreground app for per-app rules.
Foreground service: keeps the privacy feature available while enabled.
Notifications: displays the required foreground-service notification.
Run at startup: restores the service after a device restart if you enable this premium option.
Quick Settings tile: lets you arm or stop the service from Android Quick Settings.
Query launchable apps: displays installed apps in the local per-app settings picker.
The App does not request access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, media, SMS, call logs, or files.
We do not share App data with third parties because we do not collect App data on our servers.
Google Play and Google Play Services may independently process information when providing purchases or downloadable fonts, as described above. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Locally stored preferences remain on the device until you:
change or remove the relevant setting;
clear the App’s storage in Android settings; or
uninstall the App.
Uninstalling the App deletes its local data from the device, subject to any backup retained by Android or your backup provider. Purchase records associated with your Google Play account are retained by Google under Google’s policies and may be used to restore premium access.
Because we do not maintain user accounts or a backend database, we do not have remote personal data to retrieve or delete.
The App minimizes data handling and stores preferences in Android’s private application storage. No method of device storage is completely secure, and the security of local data also depends on your device, operating system, screen lock, backups, and other installed software.
The App is a general-purpose privacy utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s features, permissions, or legal obligations change. The revised version will show a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the App or its store listing where appropriate.
