In Brief:
Gravity Pull is a series of six monochrome mixed-media works on paper. Each piece incorporates a fragment of muslin or hessian intersected by a single linear mark, suggesting trajectory and descent. The series reflects on gravity as quiet force and underlying tension.
Context:
Gravity Pull is a series of six monochrome mixed-media works that examine gravity as both physical force and quiet inevitability. Rather than depicting spectacle, the series considers descent as something measured, restrained, and constant.
Each painting is made on painted paper, interrupted by a fragment of muslin/ hessian embedded into the surface. These raw textile elements puncture the flatness of the ground, functioning as both aperture and obstruction. Through each fragment runs a singular linear mark, a trajectory, suggesting the path of falling, a mapping of motion across space.
The line reads as both measurement and surrender: a trace of movement and a record of pull. The tension between the smooth painted field and the coarse textile introduces a dialogue between structure and collapse, resistance and yield.
Across the six works, repetition with subtle variation mirrors gravitational force itself, constant in principle, altered by position and relation. The series invites contemplation of what draws matter downward, what anchors it, and what remains suspended in the moment before contact.
