I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics at St. Mary's College of Maryland. My primary research interests reside in the field of theoretical/computational astrophysics. I enjoy modelling astrophysical problems using computational resources and visualizing them through simulations. I have had the opportunity to study accretion disks around low mass X-ray binaries and Active Galactic Nuclei, primarily the interaction between matter and radiation leading to winds and outflows. I am currently working on Galaxy Clusters and studying the complex plasma physics of the intracluster medium via multiwavelength observations of the distant sources commonly referred to as the Brightest Cluster Galaxies. Please visit Research for more details on my past and present research. A detailed description of my academic and research background can be found here.
Besides my work, I thoroughly enjoy reading all kinds of books, listening to and playing music and painting. I hail from the state of West Bengal in India. I love any excuse to visit new places in an effort to enrich my travelogue with new faces, foods and drinks.
