SG Buses ("the App") is a mobile application that provides real-time bus arrival information for Singapore public transport. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Location Data
- When: Only when you use the "Nearby" map feature
- Purpose: To show bus stops near your current location
- Storage: Not stored or transmitted to any server
- Control: You can deny location permission; the app works without it
Local Data Storage
The following data is stored only on your device:
- Your bookmarked bus stops and services
- Custom bookmark names you create
- Bus monitoring preferences and alert settings
- App preferences (e.g., onboarding completion status)
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
Third-Party Services
LTA DataMall API
The App uses Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) DataMall API to fetch real-time bus arrival information. When you view bus arrivals:
- Bus stop codes are sent to LTA's servers
- No personal information is transmitted

Apple Services
- Notifications: If enabled, Apple's Push Notification service delivers bus arrival alerts
- WidgetKit: Home screen widgets use Apple's widget framework
- MapKit: Maps are provided by Apple Maps
Data Security
- All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage frameworks
- No user accounts or logins are required
- No data is transmitted to our servers (we don't have any)
- No analytics or tracking tools are used
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The App contains no user accounts, social features, or data collection mechanisms.
Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Delete: Uninstalling the app removes all stored data
- Access: All your data is visible within the app (bookmarks, settings)
- Portability: Bookmarks and preferences are stored in your device backup

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
