I am currently working on the Horizon Europe project "TRAILS: Enabling Data Analytics for Actions Tackling Skills Shortages & Mismatch" which aims to provide new insights, innovative tools, and databases to bridge the gap between labor supply and demand by fostering awareness and co-development of skills, based on a common understanding of European labor market needs and conditions.
During my PhD studies, I focused on examining the influence of socio-economic and political factors on party competition and voting behavior across micro, meso (regional) and macro levels of analysis.
While I continue to work on the aforementioned topics, I have expanded my research to examine the implications of recent political developments, such as the rise of the far right and populism, on fiscal policies and their outcomes, as well as on individuals’ attitudes and perceptions. Moreover, my interests extends to the study of inequality, with a particular emphasis on analyzing the relationship between tax policies and income inequality, combining data from micro, tax and macro levels.
I have been a teaching assistant in postgraduate courses (Advanced Econometrics), and undergraduate courses (Macroeconomics and Public economics). Additionally, I have gained experience as a research trainee and research expert at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission (Italy).
Furthermore, I am a member of International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) and I have experience in monitoring and evaluating projects in humanitarian aid, including survey design, data processing and analysis, training and facilitation, capacity building, and report writing.
