Events
The Mathematistas have organized many events over the years: we've gone on hikes (pictured), held meet-and-greets with our faculty, organized student research showcases, and much more. Each semester brings new events to the calendar!
Raising Voices Colloquium
Previously the Distinguished Women in Math Lecture Series, the Raising Voices Colloquium is an ongoing series of research talks featuring female and queer mathematicians. A few of our recent speakers have been:
Andrés R. Vindas Meléndez, U.C. Berkeley
Juliette Bruce, Brown University
Laura Escobar, Washington University
Anastasia Chavez, U.C. Davis
Ellen Veomett, St. Mary's College of California
Carolina Araujo, IMPA
Hélène Barcelo, MSRI
Match-a-Matics!
In this event, members of the SF State math faculty are able to meet with students for short chats to talk about potential research together. This event will be held in the late Fall semester
