Question: How long is the field training and ride alongs for the Miami Dade Police Department?
Answer: Depending on the recruit, will determine how long the field training is which usually varies between an hour and thirty minutes to two hours. Ride along's depend on how quickly a recruit gets with their FTO's and gets their ride alongs done. These usually take 1 to 2 days to complete.

Question: What is the Miami Dade Police Departments probation policy?
Answer: Once you complete and pass your road evaluation you will be promoted to the rank of officer and immidiatly placed on probation for 2 weeks. When you get promoted through the ranks, you will be placed on a 2 week probation and every time you receive a new rank.

Question: How does one get promoted in the Miami Dade Police Department?
Answer: Promotions are mainly based on activity and performance within the department as well as in server. As long as you have no major IA or Staff investigations and complete the duties of of your rank, you are eligible for a promotion.
