The Snake River Valley Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers was established in 2018 and is a 501(c)(3), charitable organization focused on providing fire protection networking and education opportunities for our members as well as supporting the community in southeast Idaho.
Our chapter offers periodic educational and social opportunities as part of our chapter meetings and a chance for our members to participate in some great volunteer activities to help support the southeast Idaho community. Volunteer opportunities include supporting the Idaho Regional Future City Competition, participating in Fire Prevention Week activities and beautification of Idaho’s roadways through the Idaho Department of Transportation’s Adopt-a-highway program. Our SRV Chapter is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of fire protection engineering, the chapter provides networking, education, and professional development opportunities for engineers and industry professionals throughout southeast Idaho. Its commitment to excellence has earned it the SFPE Award for Chapter Excellence (Silver), reflecting its strong member engagement and high standards.
Beyond technical events and chapter meetings, our group actively supports community outreach and STEM education. The chapter participates in programs such as the Idaho Regional Future City Competition—offering a “Best Application of Fire Protection Principles” award—Fire Prevention Week activities, and local beautification efforts through Adopt-a-Highway. With a structured leadership team, regular newsletters, and a public event calendar, SRV continues to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and promote fire safety principles within the community.
