Campaign Overview
The Quitting for Real campaign originally launched mid-December 2020 and ran through March 2021. The campaign messaging and creative was developed with formative testing and adapted to reflect Smokefree Oregon's brand. OHA runs commercial tobacco cessation campaigns about once a year because it helps keep momentum up for both cessation and prevention. It's essential to remain in the media to counter the powerful marketing from the tobacco industry.
Through a series of engagement sessions with community partners, we received feedback on the initial campaign and adapted the creative and messaging based on what we learned. The updated campaign ran from February 2023 through September 2023.
Campaign Goal: Develop a statewide commercial tobacco cessation campaign that encourages and supports people across Oregon to quit tobacco.
Measuring Success:
Increase in the number of calls/texts/visits to the Quit Line
Increase in the number of visits to the "I'm Ready to Quit" resource page on SmokefreeOregon.com
Use of self-directed tools
Audience: Adults living in Oregon who use tobacco
