We are the Sun City Chapter of one of the most prestigious scientific conferences, the Society for Neuroscience (SfN). Our chapter represents the border town of El Paso, Texas, and The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). With great honor, we want to inspire the next generation of neuroscientists.
Learn more about SfN’s Sun City Chapter Leader, Briana Pinales, PhD. Pinales is the founder of the Sun City Chapter in El Paso, Texas, re-established to share science within the border town. Pinales’ mission was to help cultivate the next generation of scientists and to help students succeed.

Our members attend the Society for Neuroscience conference to present research and meet other neuroscientists yearly. Locally, our organization participates in public school science fairs, and volunteers with the Salvation Army, the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). We also promote scientific outreach during Brain Awareness Week and participate in multiple UTEP events, such as Miner Palooza.
