The Leo-Lion Club is part of Lions International, a global service organization I’ve been active in since high school. I’ve gone through leadership training and workshops that taught me how to plan, fund, and execute projects you can truly call your own. Lions partners with Toastmasters will improve your public speaking skills. Furthermore, Lions International will offer training and seminars to help you succeed in projects you can call your own.
The goal is to create a low-commitment but high-impact club where anyone can step into leadership roles in a way that fits them best. We want this club to be a platform for people from all backgrounds to use their leadership skills to do good for the world.

Being a Leo Lion has been an enriching experience! My favorite part, by far, was being able to imagine, assemble, and see a project idea I cared about come to life. The bi-weekly Mahjong nights were a fun way to build relationships with other members, and allowed me a chance to exhibit my professionalism and leadership abilities. All in all, joining the SF Leo-Lions Club was such an impactful decision and a great way to close out my last year here at USF.

Joining the Leo Lions has opened my world up to possibilities I did not know existed. Learning about it allowed me to find a community where my peers have the same values but also similar goals to mine. While in life there will always be space for collaboration, the Leo Lions create an environment where collaboration is not only encouraged but there is space for implementation of our ideas. My peers and I work together to achieve a common goal and gain leadership experience. Meeting new people who I normally would not have the chance to meet, expands my views on life and society. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of the Leo Lions, and hope to continue my journey even as I move on to other parts of my life.

I enjoy participating in various events and fundraisers that benefit our community, such as beach clean-ups and selling baked goods for the Healing Hearts Project. Collaborating with my fellow club members during general meetings is especially rewarding, where we brainstorm creative ideas to support our projects and make a real impact together.

Hi, my name is Jeena Dang and I am currently the Leo Club Coordinator for the SF Leo-Lion Club! Throughout high school I was apart of the Aptos High Leo Club. I took on board positions including Social Media Director (2021-2023) and President (2024). Throughout my four years we worked with non-profit organizations as well as the local lions club for volunteer opportunities. These non-profits included Jacob's Heart, Gravity Water, LIVE LIKE COCO, and Save Our Shores. Being apart of the Leo club has been beneficial in so many aspects of life. Not only is it a club to fill my time with do meaningful projects that benefit my community but it also allows me to socialize and meet new people of all different walks of life. The Leo club has taught me many soft skills like leadership, independence, dedication, networking, and strategizing just to name a few.
