Stephen Ferrigno

I am a fouth year graduate student in the Brain and Cognitive Science Department at the University of Rochester. I'm a member of the Concepts Actions and Objects Lab working primarily with Dr. Jessica Cantlon.

My current research focuses on the evolutionary and developmental origins of human cognition. I investigate how the basic foundations for our complex cognitive abilities develop over evolutionary and ontogenetic time. I take a comparative and developmental approach to test whether number logic , metacognition, recursive sequencing , and logical inference are present in non-human primates as well as humans with different ages, education levels, and cultural backgrounds.
