Welcome to the Structural Fire and Earthquake Engineering Research Lab (SFEER)
Established in 2013, SFEER is a specialized research lab focused on the performance and resilience of structures under extreme events such as fire, earthquakes, impact loading, and wave action. Our work integrates advanced analytical, experimental, and numerical methods to enhance structural safety and reliability in multi-hazard environments.
SFEER brings together researchers, academicians, and industry partners to foster interdisciplinary collaboration in the development, simulation, and experimental testing of innovative structural systems. Our work focuses on enhancing the performance and resilience of infrastructure under extreme loading conditions such as seismic events, elevated temperatures, and impact loading.
Through state-of-the-art computational modeling, full-scale and scaled experimental investigations, and parametric studies, the lab contributes to the development of next-generation design methodologies and performance-based engineering solutions for safer, more resilient built environments.
