Rebecca is a fourth-year MD/MPH student who is pursuing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology for Match in 2024. She aspires to a career in sexual medicine and has a particular interest in studying sexual function and gender medicine. Her research focuses on improving the lives and health of transgender and gender non-conforming persons, sexual dysfunction in cancer survivors, and sexually transmitted infections. Outside of the hospital, she's most likely to be found exploring one of Miami's neighborhoods with an iced coffee, curating her sexuality podcast playlist (click for the list!), and catching up with friends and family.

Monica has served on the executive board and as a committee member within the Forum on Female Sexual Medicine (FSM), a group of Chicagoland medical students promoting the inclusion of FSM in medical education. She is actively involved in research related to the study of obstetrics and vulvovaginal conditions and has presented her research at several local and national conferences. She is hoping to pursue residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Rubin is the founding physician leader of the Sexual Medicine Research Team.
Dr. Rubin is the founding physician leader of the Sexual Medicine Research Team.
Dr. Rubin is a board-certified urologist and sexual medicine specialist. She is one of only a handful of physicians with fellowship training in sexual medicine for all genders. Dr. Rubin is a clinician, researcher, and passionate educator. In addition to being education chair for the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), she serves as associate editor for the journal Sexual Medicine Reviews. Dr. Rubin completed her medical education at Tufts University, her urology training at Georgetown University, and her sexual medicine fellowship training with Dr. Irwin Goldstein in San Diego.
