If you want comfortable true wireless earbuds for movies while submerged in a pool or splashing during a surf session, choose SEWOBYE Waterproof MP3; if you need best fast charging head phones for movies with studio-grade precision and deep bass for critical listening on land, choose Superlux HD660PRO. These two devices occupy completely different worlds of audio engineering, yet both promise to transform how you consume media in their specific environments. One is built to survive the chaos of water sports, while the other is engineered for the quiet intensity of a home studio or living room movie night. Understanding where each device excels is the only way to avoid buying the wrong tool for your entertainment needs.
• SEWOBYE Waterproof MP3: The ultimate strength is its IPX8 waterproof rating and 16-hour battery life designed specifically for swimming and wet conditions; its trade-off is that it requires a wired connection via a short cord and lacks wireless convenience for casual use.
• Superlux HD660PRO: The standout feature is its 40mm Neodymium drivers delivering professional, balanced sound with deep bass and clear highs for stationary listening; the compromise is its wired-only nature and over-ear design, which makes it unsuitable for active or aquatic activities.
• Who it's for: Pick the SEWOBYE if your primary movie-watching or music-listening happens in the water or during high-intensity sweating; choose the Superlux if you are seated at home, in a car, or in a studio environment prioritizing audio fidelity above all else.
The SEWOBYE Waterproof MP3 player is not just an accessory; it is a specialized piece of gear designed for one singular purpose: keeping you motivated while you are in motion, especially when that motion involves water. If you are a lap swimmer, a marathon runner, or someone who enjoys kayaking and skiing, this device bridges the gap between boredom and performance. The design philosophy here is purely functional. With dimensions of roughly 0.75 inches by 1.42 inches by 2.01 inches and weighing only 35 grams, it is incredibly unobtrusive. It features a clip-on attachment that secures easily to goggle straps or swimsuit bands, ensuring the player stays put even when you are executing complex strokes or navigating rough waves.

For the buyer looking for true wireless earbuds for movies in a unique context, this device offers a solution where no other product dares to go. While most "wireless" options fail under submersion, the SEWOBYE boasts an IPX8 rating, meaning it can withstand submersion up to 10 feet (3 meters). This isn't just splash resistance; it is full immersion capability. The control buttons are raised with ridges specifically engineered for wet fingertips, allowing you to skip tracks or adjust volume without ever needing to look down or take off your goggles. You can operate the shuffle feature blindly, which is a game-changer when your hands are occupied or visibility is poor underwater.
However, this device demands a specific lifestyle. It is not for the person who wants to stream Spotify from their phone wirelessly while sitting on the couch. It requires you to transfer files directly from a computer. The unit supports formats like MP3, WMA, FLAC, APE, and WAV, holding over 2,000 songs in its 8GB memory. Once you load your library, you are self-sufficient, but you must be willing to manage your own playlist before heading to the pool. It also comes with short-cord swimming headphones that prevent the tangling issues common with long cords around goggle straps. If you are serious about endurance training or simply want to watch action-packed movies while floating in the ocean, this is the only logical choice.
On the other side of the spectrum sits the Superlux HD660PRO, a pair of closed-back studio headphones that prioritize sonic accuracy and comfort for extended periods. This is not a toy for the pool; it is a tool for the critic, the creator, and the dedicated movie enthusiast who wants to hear every footstep and musical note as the artist intended. The core of its performance lies in the precision-tuned 40mm Neodymium drivers. These drivers are capable of reproducing a frequency range from 10Hz to 30KHz, delivering a sound profile that is natural, well-balanced, and rich in detail. For someone watching a movie, this means the difference between hearing a muddled background score and distinguishing the subtle creak of a door or the whisper of a character.
The HD660PRO is designed for people who value comfortable true wireless earbuds for movies in the sense of long-term wearability, even though these are wired. The build includes an upgraded leather headband and ultra-soft velvet ear pads made from velour and synthetic leather. This combination ensures that you can wear them for marathon sessions without the fatigue often associated with clamping over-ear designs. Whether you are mixing audio, recording a podcast, or simply settling in for a two-hour film, the ergonomics are tuned to minimize pressure points. The closed-back design further isolates you from external noise, creating a focused listening bubble that enhances immersion in dramatic scenes.
Its versatility extends beyond just music. The 32Ω impedance strikes a balance that allows it to drive powerful sound from laptops, tablets, smartphones, and professional studio gear alike. You get a 3.5mm plug included along with a 6.3mm adapter, making it compatible with almost any audio source you might have in your home setup. The cable itself is a durable 8.2 feet straight cord, giving you enough slack to move around your room or workspace without feeling tethered. However, this durability comes with a caveat: it is strictly a wired device. There is no Bluetooth, no battery to recharge, and no ability to use it underwater. It is a stationary experience, perfect for the den, the office, or the studio, but useless if you plan to take it into the shower or the pool.
• Best for aquatic activities → SEWOBYE Waterproof MP3. Its IPX8 rating and short-cord design make it the only option for listening while swimming, surfing, or in heavy rain.
• Best for audio fidelity → Superlux HD660PRO. The 40mm drivers and 10Hz–30KHz frequency response offer a level of clarity and depth that a basic waterproof player cannot match.
• Best for battery independence → SEWOBYE Waterproof MP3. With 16 hours of playback on a single charge, it handles long training days or multi-day trips without needing a power outlet.
• Best for comfort during long sessions → Superlux HD660PRO. The velvet ear pads and leather headband are superior for sedentary, hours-long movie marathons compared to the compact fit of the MP3 player.
• Best for portability and weight → SEWOBYE Waterproof MP3. At 35 grams, it is featherlight and clips onto gear, whereas the Superlux weighs 11.4 ounces and requires a bag or stand.
• Best for file management flexibility → SEWOBYE Waterproof MP3. It holds 8GB of local storage for thousands of songs, removing the need for a constant internet connection or streaming subscription.
• Best for connectivity variety → Superlux HD660PRO. Includes both 3.5mm and 6.3mm jacks, fitting everything from modern phones to vintage mixers and guitars.
• Best for "set and forget" usage → SEWOBYE Waterproof MP3. Once loaded with music, you never need to touch your phone or worry about signal loss during a swim.
In my opinion, I would buy the Superlux HD660PRO for my daily movie-watching routine because the immersive quality of the closed-back design and the clarity of the 40mm drivers provide a cinematic experience that the SEWOBYE simply cannot replicate. The SEWOBYE is a fantastic niche tool, but it sacrifices too much audio fidelity for its waterproof capabilities to be my primary device for film consumption. If your goal is to enjoy best fast charging head phones for movies in a comfortable, stationary setting, the Superlux delivers the emotional impact and detail necessary for a great story. However, if your definition of "watching a movie" involves doing laps in a pool, then the SEWOBYE becomes the mandatory choice. For the average viewer seeking the best possible picture and sound, the Superlux wins hands down.
Yes, the SEWOBYE is rated IPX8 and can handle submersion up to 10 feet, making it safe for shower use, provided you download the movie files to the 8GB internal storage beforehand since it does not stream.
Absolutely. Their 40mm Neodymium drivers deliver deep, punchy bass and well-defined vocals, while the closed-back design helps isolate external noise to enhance immersion in action sequences and dialogue.
No conversion software is required; you simply connect the device via USB to your computer and drag and drop your MP3, FLAC, or other supported audio/video files directly into the "Sewobye" drive folder.
The Superlux HD660PRO is a passive, wired headphone and does not have a battery, so you can listen indefinitely as long as your source device is powered and connected via the included cable.
