Our studio is a welcoming space. We keep it that way by *cleaning all work surfaces before leaving the studio, and washing and stowing any club tools or equipment we've used.
*Keeping the studio as free of clay dust as possible is a priority. It's important for our health to maintain a clean, dust-free studio. Clay dust contains crystalline silica which, if inhaled over time, can lead to to silicosis and lung cancer.
Kiln-ready pieces should be placed in the kiln room in the clearly designated areas. Greenware should be placed in the "bisque" area for first firing and glazed pieces should be placed in the "glaze" area for second firing.

Especiall unfired greenware which is extremely delicate and can break with just a touch. The studio is meant to be a safe place for members to leave their works-in-progress.
ALSO, if you stop by the studio with visitors, please remind them to not handle others' work.
Please remember to sign in and out when you work in the studio. This helps us monitor studio usage and assists us in planning classes and group events.
