Eleni Barrett is a poet who grew up in Kingston upon Thames and was first published in 2021. She has won competitions including Foyle Young Poets and the Orwell Youth Prize, and now serves on the Orwell Foundation's Board of Governance. Poetry provided a lot of support for Eleni whilst growing up, and her work frequently explores themes of isolation and hope. When she’s not writing, Eleni is usually thrifting for stuff she really doesn't need, at the theatre trying to start a standing ovation, or listening to alternative/indie rock. She launched the Seven Kings Poetry Prize to inspire other young people and to share her love for writing.
