Change “eula=false” to “eula=true”
Then click “file” in the top left corner of the “eula” and click “save” then close the eula and Then in your file where you put your server type cmd like this:
then in the new command prompt (the black thing) that just opened paste: java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar server.jar
It will open something like this:
When it says “done!” on the right go back into your server files. It should have “unfolded” a couple new files here is a list of what they do
World - contains your world file (do not touch)
Banned-ips.json - banned wifis
Banned-players.json - banned usernames
Ops.json - optional operator permissions (i recommend don't touch this)
Usercache.json - everyone that has been in your server
Whitelist.json - optional operator permissions (i recommend don't touch this)
(you can now close the white server thing if you want)
Now if you want to run your server you type in the command:java -jar server.jar
Into your black command prompt you opened a while back. it should open the white thing again.
So right now no-one can join (see: joining java server) to see how to join
Open a new command prompt by typing cmd into the windows search bar
Type: ipconfig
Then note the IPv4 address:
And change it to: server-ip=(yourIPv4address)*
*example: server-ip=187.462.3.328 (made-up IPv4 address)
Now anyone on your Wi-Fi* can connect by doing this:
*guest Wi-Fi doesn't count
Open Minecraft java
Play latest release
Click “multiplayer”
Click “add server”
And enter your IPv4 address (this is ONLY on your Wi-Fi)
And enter a name
Example:
Note: my instructions may not work with port forwarding for you. It varies from router to router. If it doesn't work for you try this website: port forwarding
Open a new command prompt by typing cmd into the windows search bar
Type: ipconfig
Then note the default gateway, example:
Then copy and paste that number into your browser. It should open a login page. Then enter your username and password (default username and password: username: admin. password: it should have a password already saved when using google chrome) then navigate to the “port forwarding” tab/section or the games and applications tab/section
(you might need to go to wifi settings or something before you find the port forwarding/games and applications section. You might need to do a bit of exploring to find it) then go to step 2:
If your in games and applications tab:
You are going to want to select Minecraft out of the list of games/applications. if Minecraft is not there go back to exploring your settings and find port forwarding. Then fill the ip-address to your IPv4 address (only do that if Minecraft is on the list of games/applications) then click “add”. And that should be it! If that doesn't work email me at haganlgray@gmail.com and I will help.
If your in the port forwarding tab:
First your going to want to name it (something like:”javaserver”) that bit doesn't matter. Then switch service or protocol to TCP-UDP (or maybe service to “other” and protocol to “TCP-UDP”). External port and internal port your going to want both of these to be 25565.
External host your going to want to leave empty. Internal host your going to want to change to your IPv4 address you got back in setting up your server. And that should be it for this step! If that doesn't work email me a haganlgray@gmail.com and I will help.
Go into a new tab in your browser and type “what's my ip?” (here is a google link: click here )
Give the number that comes up to your friends and they will do step four with it.
Have them go into Minecraft (java edition) and click multiplayer. Then add server (example:
(into the box called "server name" have them type anything, it doesn't really matter)
(step 1)
(step 2)
(step 3)
(step 4)
(step 5)
(step 6)
(step 7)
(step 8)
Do steps 1 to 8 above (if you haven't already)
Step 2:
Go to "Software" on the left, then find "Snapshot" and click it. You will see a few buttons, click the one furthest left.
You will see this:
