Odd Noises When Driving

Odd noises, like a grinding sound, are one of the earliest signs that indicate something is wrong with the transmission system. You may even hear a whining, humming, or clunking sound. In this situation, it’s best to bring your car to an auto shop and get the transmission repaired. 

Trouble Shifting Gears

One of the most common signs your car needs transmission repair is difficulty in shifting gears. With shifting issues, you may find that it takes longer to shift gears, or you can’t shift into certain gears. The cause can be a faulty shift solenoid, a bad transmission control module, worn-out gears, or a worn clutch. If left unaddressed, this can lead to more in-depth and costly transmission repair. So, you should get the vehicle to a transmission shop ASAP. 

Leaking Transmission Fluid

Leaking transmission fluid has a reddish-brown color with a sweet, pungent smell. If you haven’t utilized transmission flushes in a long time, fluid may also appear black or dark brown.
