Anonymous GEOG 200 Students in Spring 2024:
"Seth is great at keeping the class engaged and entertained. He's more than willing to clarify if needed and take the time to help. He's clearly passionate about parks and environmental issues so he keeps each lecture interesting. He also really listens to us as students to continually make our classroom experience better which not a lot of teachers care about doing."
"I think the strengths that I noticed from this semester is being able to relate to the students. I think many discussions, videos, jokes, related well to the students and current issues/politics. I also think a strength was pace, I really liked the pace of the lectures and it was easy to take in the material and jot down valuable notes."
"Seth was such a fun and enthusiastic teacher to have. You could tell from day one he was passionate about national parks and brought the enthusiasm to every class. This was also the most organized class I've ever been in. ... It made it really easy to stay on top of things and remember what we talked about."
"Seth!!!! He has been one of my FAVORITE instructors this semester. His classes were very enjoyable and I always learned something new in each one. Additionally, he was always easy to reach out to and talk about anything involving National Parks or any related subjects. I'm going to miss not having him as an instructor."

"I will come away from GEOG 200 with the knowledge that I have taken a course with the best geography instructor at the university. Seth is incredible instructor, and its even more impressive that he does this while being a student! I have nothing but good things to take away from this course, and I want every instructor I have to be like Seth."
"I learned that being open-minded is skill that allows you to have deeper and more meaningful conversations. Without these authentic conversations, we as society will not be able to solve not only environmental issues, but many other issues affected humans directly."
"The lectures, assignments, and quizzes were very well organized which help with overall course management. It was nice to be able to keep the template in my mind and know what was planned for every class session, instead of scrolling though a syllabus and inaccurate course schedules."
"He made sure that we knew how broad geography actually expands and helped guide students to look at the world through a spatial lens. Another thing he did that was great in comparison to other classes I've taken is that not only did he tell us about the issues in these parks, whether caused by humans or nature, but he also showed the efforts to help the issues in National Parks to show that there can be a brighter side to every issue."

"Seth made sure that we all understand genuinely what we were learning. He made learning fun and I looked forward to coming to lab class every single week. Honestly, if I had had anyone else teaching this lab, I probably wouldn't have even shown up, but Seth made it so fun!"
"This instructor can flip his teaching ways well into helping students in an engaging way that makes them want to learn and find it fun even with no interest in the topic. Really connects with his students making them more comfortable in the classroom and willing to participate."
Anonymous GEOG 131 Students in Fall 2022:
"Seth had the great strength of being able to relate to the students and created a stress-free learning environment. The instructor also was good at explain complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand, this was very helpful in labs. P.S. Everyone I have talked to and sat around loved when he got the opportunity to lecture!"
"He came to class always with a positive attitude, calm demeanor, and was ready to help us learn. He put an emphasis on the learning part and I truly believe he meant it."
