The Southeastern Supplemental Instruction Collaborative (SESIC) cultivates community among SI professionals through regional support and collaboration in the southeastern United States. We are an inclusive network that celebrates successes and discuss SI-related challenges that arise across SI programs in various institutional environments. SESIC provides a space where, together, we build connections and foster relationships between SI programs, thus strengthening the bond between one another and contributing to the betterment of SI regionally, nationally, and internationally.
We accomplish our mission by cultivating professional development opportunities; sharing program resources; determining potential funding sources; and initiating research.
To be a leading network that empowers SI professionals through community, collaboration, and continuous improvement, elevating the quality and reach of Supplemental Instruction regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Collaborative – we strive to foster an environment wherein all participants feel empowered to engage with the group
Reflective – we ask that participants be open to others' perspectives and ideas and how these may fit into your own personal, professional, or institutional practices
Respectful Communication – we do ask for pronouns and request all participants do their best to honor the identities of their colleagues
Accountability – we ask that each participant help hold their colleagues accountable for the above norms
Grace – issues happen, especially online, so we ask for grace for any challenges that arise for participants
Community Norms adopted from the International Center for Supplemental Instruction Supervisor Trainings.
