Introduction to Scientific Computing in Python
This course is intended for students with basic programming knowledge in any language who would like to learn the techniques of scientific programming. The course covers scientific programming in Python, including writing numerical codes with NumPy, data handling including Pandas, visualisation with Matplotlib, Vedo and ParaView, implementing user interfaces with Qt, and creating Python environments for scientific applications.

The course is spread over three weeks in the following format:
Week 1 (home)
Home assignments
Week 2 (on-site)
Introduction to Python
Array computing - NumPy/Scipy
Data processing - Python / Pandas
Scientific Visualisation - Matplotlib / Vedo / ParaView
User interfaces with Qt / Intro to web applications
Week 3 (home)

The on-campus activities will take place between 8th and 14th of September 2025 at Lund University.
