The Leader in Me is Franklin Covey’s whole school transformation process, teaching 21st century leadership and life skills to students. The Leader in Me creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.

We became a Leader in Me school during the 2018-2019 school year. Our goal is to help students learn life-long skills through the utilization of a leadership oriented model. We earned Lighthouse Status during the 2021-22 school year.

The Leader in Me uses Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Happy Kids to teach leadership skills in an age-appropriate format.

The Leader in Me is not an event and it's not a curriculum. The Leader in Me is ubiquitous leadership development, meaning everywhere and all the time. Everyone participates in "SEAL Time" from 7:45-8:15 every single day, where the Habits are taught exclusively. However, educators also use an integrated approach throughout the curriculum to make leadership training part of everything they do. The Leader in Me positively impacts everything—the traditions, events, organization, culture, instructional methodologies, and curriculum of the school.
