Rules- Serrano Chapter
Season Begins – March 7, 2026
Season Ends – October 31, 2026
At the beginning of the season, each member will be required to pay a $40 annual registration fee. This fee will be used to cover the cost of the year-end purse payouts along with the cost to acquire a new trophy and have it engraved.
As an MwBC member, you will be allowed to participate in club trips, weekly games, and year-end playoffs (if required).
Members will meet at the clubhouse at their assigned tee time on Saturday mornings. We currently have four scheduled Saturday tee times, which begin at 9:40 AM and continue through 10:04 AM. Times are currently scheduled at eight-minute intervals. Marty DiPietro, our club coordinator, will provide the weekly tee time assignments, member pairings, and each week’s game. The weekly game will be determined through member input.
The coordinator will update the member leaderboard spreadsheet on a weekly basis. The spreadsheet will provide winners' names and related point distribution. At the conclusion of each game, a first, second, and third-place winner will be determined. Points will be awarded accordingly, 3 points for the first place winner, 2 points for second place, and finally, 1 point for third place.
In addition to the weekly game points, a member can earn additional points as follows:
Hole in one – 10 points
First-place finish in a Serrano Club tournament – 3 points
Eagle (natural) – 3 points
CTP (qualifying closest to pin) – 2 points
First place finish in an MwBC golf trip competition – TBD
5. Weekly Buy-In – each week (Saturdays) the coordinator will collect $12 from each playing member, $10 of which will be distributed between the first, second, and third-place finishers for that week’s game. The remaining $2 will be added to the pot for the closest to the pin (CTP) competition. The $2 will be divided between a front and back CTP. In order to win a CTP pot, you must hit your ball on the green, be the closest to the pin of all playing members and make your birdie putt. If the CTP pot is not won for the week, its funds will be carried forward and added to the money collected for the following week’s play.
6. Most Improved Member – in addition to crowning an MwBC champion at the season’s end, we’ll also determine and award our Most Improved Member.
7. At the conclusion of each week’s play, a separate spreadsheet will be provided reporting the first through third-place winners for the week along with their respective payouts. In addition, member information (cell #, email address, and ghin #) will be reported with each player’s year-to-date leaderboard standing.
8. New Executive Committee for the season was established; Members are Marty DiPietro, Richard Fulton, Mark Christiansen, Marty Inderbitzen, and Dave Strother.
9. New Requirement to stay active in the group- You must play a minimum of 6 games during the season.
10. No additional points will be awarded when you show up for Saturday play during the regular season.
11. At the end of the season top 7 PLAYERS will play a match game to determine MwBC Champion . The #1 player for the season will automatically get a buy for the first match play.
12. Going forward the highest handy-cap (HC)you can have is 30.
13. The HC will calculate as follows:
a. HC 0-7 =100%
b. HC 8-14=90%
c. HC 15-22=85%
c. HC 23-30=80%
Note: the above will allow:
1. Protects single-digit players
2. Reduces volatility advantage of 23-30 HC.
3. Still allows higher handicaps to compete.
