During the first International ICT Infrastructure and Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) which was held on the 3rd and 4th April 2017, The Right Honourable Premier Of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg has announced significant initiatives and policy decisions to Transform the State of Sarawak into a Digital Economy Powerhouse. This includes the setup of the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), as the implementing agency to drive the Sarawak Digital Economy initiatives.
Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (“SDEC”) was incorporated on 22nd January 2018, and operationalised in July 2020, as a company wholly-owned by the Sarawak Government through State Financial Secretary Inc. under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.

Our economy must leapfrog to a digital economy otherwise we will be left far behind. Digital economy will create an entirely new dimension of development and growth for Sarawak.
