In the framework of CS2-U-HARWARD EU Project leaded by DAER-POLIMI the large aeroelastic model AE2 has been tested at POLIMI’s Large Wind tunnel under gust excitation. The model, representative of the U-HARWARD project Reference Aircraft with Aspect Ratio = 15, implements the Folding WingTip configuration, i.e. the outer 30% of the wing is connected to the central wing by means of a hinge remotely controlled. The device allows to switch from the fixed to the free configuration, with a pre-defined delay with respect to the incoming gust.
Thanks to all the involved colleagues and especially L. Marchetti, L. Riccobene and D. Grassi. A special thank to Prof. J.E. Cooper from the University of Bristol, partner of the project, that attended the WT test campaign at POLIMI.
In the framework of CS2-U-HARWARD EU Project leaded by DAER-POLIMI the aerodynamic test campaign of model AA in strut-braced configuration proposed by ONERA has been successfully completed. Different angle of attack and side, together with three angles of attack of htail, have been tested for a total of more than 500 test points.
Thanks to all the involved colleagues and especially L. Marchetti, L. Riccobene and D. Grassi.
The experimental validation of full scale Droop Nose Leading Edge morphing, in the framework of CS2-AIRGREEN2 project has been successfully carried out. Thanks to all the involved colleagues, especially A. De Gaspari and V. Cavalieri!
The second step Gust Loads Alleviation test campaign on WTT3 aeroelastic model has been successfully completed in the framework of EU-CS2 AIRGREEN 2 project.
Thanks to all the involved colleagues and especially F. Toffol, L. Marchetti, L. Riccobene and D. Grassi.
The final AFS (Phase 1) wind tunnel flutter test campaign on F-XDIA model has been successfully concluded. More than 30 flutter combination and four different control schemes have been assessed.
Thanks to all the involved colleagues from Milano and from University of Washington in Seattle!
