At Serenite, we believe in creating a space where students not only survive, but thrive- academically, socially, and mentally. Ultimately, we believe that through engaging events and resources, we can empower students to get away from Heavy Workloads, Poor Time-Managment, and Peer Competition by focusing on creating vast social networks, building up their self esteem, promoting balance, and through fostering open communication. We want students to understand that success isn't defined by a grade- it's also done by feeling good, staying connected, and growing as a society.
OUR MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
Since our Topic targets the current situation regarding students' relationships with their school life, we thought it best to get help from someone who knows exactly what they're talking about- one of our school's best guidance counselors. Ms. Estrada has been working as a guidance counselor at Emerson High School for a number of years, and has a ton of experience in the field of education. Since we know that her role provides a unique angle through an accumulation of hundreds of different student perspectives, we were able to discuss possible topics and narrow our focus onto the thing that impacts students most heavily throughout their busy lives- Academic Pressure.
