Serena's Story

Serena Dicillo, was diagnosed with stage IV ALK+ Large B Cell Lymphoma in mid June. This very rare and aggressive form of cancer comes with limited knowledge of successful treatments. Serena has recently begun treatment at UH hospital and is prepared to kick cancers butt. T-shirts and bracelets are being sold to show support and raise money for the family's expences. If you would like to make a monetary donation, that option is available as well under the t-shirt tab above.

Serena is a current University of Tampa scholar and Walsh Jesuit 2020 graduate. She dedicated many years of her past to playing volleyball and through her lifetime has made an impact on many people's lives as a daughter, sister, friend, and teammate. Support from her family and friends will help get Serena and her immediate family through these difficult times. A caring bridge site has been made to update family and friends on Serena's journey and can be found at this link: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/serenadicillo

"He gave me wings so I should fly" are the words etched under the butterfly tattoo on Serena's side. They could not be more fitting at a time like this in her life. The butterfly symbolizes Serena's true grace and beauty, while the words depict her strength and determination. For this reason, the butterfly tattoo is highlighted in the #serenastrong t-shirts. To purchase t-shirts click on the t-shirt tab above.

There will also be a day of volleyball event to raise support that is open to all friends and family of Serena. This will be July 30th 12-4 at the Sandbox Volleyball Club. More information and a form to RSVP or create a tournament team is available under the fundraiser tab.
