🏆BOULDER COUNTY 4-H AWARDS  

We are now accepting nominations and applications for the annual Boulder County 4-H Awards that are presented at Achievement Night. We want to recognize the amazing work of our 4-H leaders. Please take time to consider all the wonderful things your leaders have done in the past year; this is a great way to recognize them! Please nominate your leaders by September 17, 2026. Boulder County 4-H Award Summary:

• Outstanding Club Organizational Leader: This award is for 4‐H volunteers who have worked exclusively to make their club strong, vibrant, and inclusive.

• Outstanding New 4-H Leader: This award is a Boulder County-only award. It recognizes a new 4-H 

• Boulder County New  4-H Leader: Volunteer leader who is just starting their years of service. It is to recognize 4-H volunteers who have provided 0-3 years of volunteer time and made an impact in the local 4-H Program. 

• Outstanding County or Club Project Leader: This award is for 4‐H volunteers who have provided extraordinary and exemplary project‐specific leadership either at the club or county level.

• Outstanding District/State Leader: This award is for 4‐H volunteers who have been involved at the District/State level and in getting youth involved at the District/State level.

• Outstanding Chaperone: This award is to the 4-H volunteers who make the travel, training, or camping experience of your people a positive, life-long memory. 

• Communicator Award: This award is for the 4-H volunteers who have developed newsletters, handbooks, social media, or personal meetings to communicate with 4-H members and families.

• Above and Beyond Award: This is an award for 4‐H volunteers who have planned and implemented a one‐time event or do more than their recruited/enrolled expectations and duties.

• National 4‐H Council Salute to Excellence Awards: The award recognizes 4-H volunteers who demonstrate exemplary service to 4-H while promoting service through volunteerism as both an opportunity and a privilege.  

• Volunteer of the Year: This award is for currently serving 4-H volunteers who have served for less than  10 years at the local, county, district, or state level.

📝LIVESTOCK SALE THANK YOU NOTES

We want you to be sure to thank your buyers and supporters, however, we need you to bring those notes by the Extension office so we can check them off the list as completed.

Here is the process that will happen soon.

1. An email was sent to your Parent/Guardian email address used in FairEntry (August 20th) from BCF livestock sale. 

2. This email listed all buyers and add-on sponsors:  names, business (if applicable), address

3. The exhibitor is to deliver all buyer and add-on Thank You notes to the Boulder County Extension Office in pre-addressed and stamped envelopes.

4. If you miss the September 10th deadline you will have $100 deducted from your check.

5. Upon receipt of your complete thank you listing, you will then be eligible to receive your check when the sale committee has collected money from the buyers and supporters.

COLORADO 4-H STATE AG AMBASSADORS

We are excited to kick off a new Ag. Ambassador Team for the upcoming year. Applications due: September 15, 2026 ~ Application link

The Colorado 4-H Ag. Ambassador Program is a statewide leadership opportunity for 4-H members ages 15–18 who are passionate about agriculture, leadership, and making a difference in their communities. Through a peer-to-peer teaching model, Ag. Ambassadors serve as leaders, mentors, and advocates for Colorado 4-H, while helping educate and inspire younger 4-H members. The program is designed to build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while connecting youth with agricultural professionals and career pathways across the state.

A team of 20 Ag. Ambassadors will be selected, including one representative from each of Colorado's ten 4-H districts and ten at-large members. Ambassadors will begin their experience by participating in the ambassador team weekend, which is an interactive training focused on leadership development, team building, public speaking, and ambassador responsibilities. Throughout the year, ambassadors will continue their learning through bimonthly virtual meetings featuring leadership development, professional networking, and agricultural industry exploration.

As part of the program, ambassadors will plan and implement agriculture-focused leadership projects in their local communities or districts. 

Ag. Ambassadors will:

• Serve a one to two-year term (depending on age when applying), with the opportunity to continue in a mentorship role for new ambassadors during a third year.

• Advocate for Colorado 4-H, while serving as leaders and role models for fellow members.

• Participate in statewide 4-H events and leadership opportunities.

• Strengthening their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Build connections with fellow ambassadors, Extension professionals, volunteers, and agricultural leaders.

• Design and lead agriculture-focused educational projects across the state.

The Colorado 4-H Ag. Ambassador Program provides an opportunity for youth to grow as leaders, expand their understanding of agriculture, develop lifelong professional connections, and make a lasting impact on their communities while representing Colorado 4-H.
