MCE PTO
Spirit Wear- sale is open year round
The MCE PTO will receive a percentage of all sales to help our school.
Fun Cart Fridays are usually the first Friday of every month and our kids LOVE IT! The PTO provides fun fidgets, stickers, pokemon cards, etc to the kids each month for purchase during lunch time. Fun Cart Friday will never be more than $1. They can bring a buck or bring 5. Each month we will offer different items to keep the surprise there for them. At the end of the year, we will do grab bags that will include items that we still have from throughout the year. If you'd like to take a shift doing the fun cart and give your kiddo a hug at the same time, sign up here.

We sure do love our staff at MCE! There are lots of things we do for them throughout the year but I think the appreciation carts are the most fun! You have the opportunity to choose a theme, decorate if you like and go door to door surprising our staff with all the goodies you have brought in for them to say THANK YOU! If you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse or two of your little one. Participating in the Teacher Appreciation Cart is a great way to meet all of our staff and put their names with faces. The signup for the cart is always on a Friday BUT if you prefer to do it on a different day of the week, its fine as long as we have approval from Mr. Turner. We try our best to not interfere with testing or other important dates at the school. Grab your spot today if you'd like to be a part of this! If you aren't able to come in and would like to donate snacks and/or drinks of any kind for the cart, you can drop them off in the office for the PTO. We will make sure we get them to the person who is doing the cart that month.

Our very first skating party will be here before you know it! Did you know that our school gets money back from the Roller Cave for every person who attends our parties?! I don't know about you, BUT our kids LOVE seeing their friends at skating parties and always have so much fun! It's a WIN for everyone. Kids hang out with friends and parents can sit back and relax for a couple hours.......or skate with your kiddos.(just don't break anything) Please see the flyer below for dates and info!
Lastly, we are looking to fill positions on the PTO Board. We still need a Treasurer and a Secretary. If you filled out the form we sent out at the end of last year, we will be in contact with you soon. If not, please have yourself a looksie at our needs and come be a part of our amazing PTO! We're loads of fun and love making new friends!

Mt. Comfort Elementary Car Riders
In efforts to maintain safety, we need children to be ready to exit the car in the morning. If your student is not ready, then the line can be delayed. In order to prevent delays, you may be asked to circle back around if your student is not ready when it is their turn. Please do not get out of the car to assist your student as this delays the line and is a safety hazard. If you need to get out of your car to help, you may be asked to park or circle back around so that the line can continue moving.
Also, vehicles should not pass or go around other cars unless school personnel is present and waves you around.
Please work with your students on getting in the car and fastening seatbelts quickly. Again, adults getting out of the car presents a safety issue.
Car Rider Line: Many MCE families have chosen to use our car line. Efficiency in our line improved greatly over the past year. A few things that you can do to help include:
moving car seats to side of the car where your student enters and exits
helping your child learn how to manage the buckle independently (the goal is for all adults to stay in the vehicle)
and making sure the book bag and other supplies are close to your child so he or she can grab them quickly
We really enjoy seeing our families at arrival and dismissal!
Thank you for your help in making our car rider line safer.

Attendance Policy
Parents/guardians, please be aware of our attendance policy. Absences fall into three categories: excused with documentation, parent/guardian verified (without excused documentation) and unexcused. Please refer to the infographic for details.
For students in kindergarten through sixth grade, parents/guardians should be aware of new legislation effective July 2024 that requires adherence to updated attendance policies. If a student in these grades accumulates five parent/guardian verified or unexcused absences within any 10 consecutive weeks (as indicated in the gold or red columns):
Parents/guardians will receive immediate written notice of the 5 absences without excused documentation within a 10-week period.
A parent/guardian meeting will be requested within 5 days of the most recent absence.
During the meeting, a Student Attendance Plan will be developed.
Please refer to the absences infographic for detailed information on the repercussions of absences.
