About
I am a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, and a Vice Dean of College of Natural Sciences at Seoul National University. Before joining SNU in 2009, I worked at Cornell University, SLMath (MSRI), and University of Notre Dame. I received a Ph.D. in 2006 at Yale University under the supervision of Gregory Margulis and Univ. Paris XI, Orsay, under the supervision of Frédéric Paulin.
My research interests focus on the interplay between number theory and dynamics of group actions on homogeneous spaces and, more generally, metric spaces of non-positive curvature such as trees and buildings. I am also interested in entropy rigidity, spectral theory, and thermodynamic formalism.
I serve as the leader of the DASOM research group, which is supported by the Basic Research Laboratory program of the National Research Foundation of Korea.
