I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park. I work with Dr. Yasmeen Faroqi-Shah in the Aphasia Research Center and with Dr. Min Wang in the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology. I received my M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Maryland and hold bachelor’s degrees in Linguistics and in English Language and Literature from Stony Brook University and the University of Seoul.
Broadly, my research focuses on the assessment and treatment of acquired language disorders following neurological damage, particularly aphasia. My work examines how language impairments manifest and recover across two or more languages in bilingual and multilingual individuals with aphasia. I also investigate the underlying mechanisms of word production in neurologically healthy bilingual speakers to better understand typical bilingual language processing.
