Timeline

Objectives

Facilitate the emergence of the first p2p collaborative economy cluster, an ecosystem for innovation and local economic development. This cluster is geographically anchored, a special zone in Montreal, where p2p economic models are implemented to provide a window towards our future society.

Description

The goal of this initiative was to fund $8M to create the world's first collaborative economy cluster in Verdun, Montreal

Open overview: the economic vision or the social vision.

Background

This initiative was started by Sensorica in collaboration with David Lametti, at that time MP from Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and after Canada's Minister of Justice.

David followed Sensorica since 2013. In January 2016, after the federal election, he invited Sensorica members to discuss about an initiative to boost the economy in his riding. The general idea was to create a network of open innovation spaces, structured along the OVN model proposed by Sensorica. David asked Tibi to gather a group of experts to facilitate the implementation of this concept. Alex Bigot, co-founder of OuiShare MTL and OuiShare global connector was invited to collaborate. The main idea behind NOICE was presented at a meeting on the Parliament Hill in Ottawa, where David reaffirmed his interest for this project.

The project was first promoted during the 2016 World Social Forum, and after during Eco2Fest 2019. NOICE built on Sensorica's project VIE, conducted in 2014, in Collaboration with CDEC Rosemont.

Governance

more on Governance page
VENTURES are COLLABORATIVE, TRANSPARENT (anyone has access to the information that they produce) and OPEN (anyone can participate). They only produce deliverables based on OPEN SOURCE technology. VENTURES have a CUSTODIAN that represents them legally and acts as a trust for their tangible assets. VENTURES can have multiple EXCHANGE FIRMS, which are commercial entities that move products and services developed by VENTURES on the MARKET. EXCHANGE FIRMS oblige themselves by contract with the CUSTODIAN to share PROFIT with all contributors to VENTURES, from which they commercialize PRODUCTS.
