Behind Sense of Shades is Matteo F., a lover of music in many forms.
I was particularly interested in shaping a sound that could encompass many 'sonic hues', from dark ambient and dark electronic, to downtempo. It was about mid 2020, when I started thinking of a pleasurable detour from the more alternative rock-based path I had been following. I had always been keen on some sub-genres of electronic music in its broader sense (from Bjork to Kraftwerk, Portishead to Raison d'être), but never had the chance to work on full compositions until that moment. So I started to write, to try different solutions, to learn. That's how Sense of Shades was born, as a sort of personal sonic workshop with few filters (or none at all).
