Here you will find links to videos and playlists on some great activities that can be done in class (some virtually) to boost student engagement and performance.
Blooket is an online platform for playing games in class. It can be used live with your students or assigned as homework. Check out my full playlist here.
Gimkit is an online platform for gamifying your classroom. There is a one month free membership and then a yearly subscription fee. Check out my full playlist of videos here to see what the games are like.
Wordwall is also a platform to play games. However, it also has many activities that can be printed for the students. Check out my full playlist here.
Canvas is an online LMS. It has far too many features to put into just one video. You can run your entire class from this LMS. If you want to compare it to Google Classroom, you really can't. If Google classroom were the Wright Brother's airplane, Canvas would be an F-16. I do not have an introductory video to canvas, rather just a few how to videos here.
This playlist has a bunch of ideas for the classroom. Some are repeats of the other videos on here, but others are unique. Take a look!
The popularity of Google Jamboard skyrocketed over the 2020-2021 school year with the necessity of online teaching. Above you'll find a video introduction to Jamboard and here you can find dozens of ideas about how you can use it in your classroom.
Quizizz is another great way to gamify your classroom as well as collect data on your students' learning.
Have you tried out Baamboozle yet? It's a super fun way to review a unit and has undertones of Jeopardy - Check it out!
Have you tried out Pixel art yet? I HIGHLY suggest you join a Facebook group that specializes in Pixel art in the classroom. They're great for any classroom subject and you can customize them to fit your class. I have a few videos on this here.
