Pandit Jasraj, one of the world's most prominent Indian classical vocalists, has died of cardiac arrest in New Jersey, US, his family said. He was 90. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the maestro's death has left a deep void in the nation's social sphere.

• Pandit Jasraj was the principal Indian to perform on a cruise named "Sea Spirit" on 8 January 2012 at 82 years old on the Antarctica coast. What's more, became the primary Indian to present the program on each of the five continents. He had earlier visited North Dhruva in 2010 with wife Madhura.
• Classical Vocalist Pandit Jasraj was initially a tabla player and he used to learn tabla till the age of 14 years. Later he started singing. He carried forward the characteristic of the Mewati gharana keeping pure elocution and clearness for three and a half weeks. She was married to Madhura Shantaram, daughter of well-known film director V. Shantaram. Panditji's commitment to Indian classical music has been available for a long time.
• He made a new use of jugalbandi in singing. Pandit Jasraj composed a unique jugalbandi. In it, female and male singers sing together in different ragas. This jugalbandi was named "Jasrangi". There is very sweet praise of Lord Krishna composed by Vallabhacharya. Pandit Jasraj carried this praise from entryway to entryway. Panditji used to sing Madhurashtakam in every one of his projects.
• 14 years back, NASA named a little house after Pandit Jasraj. He was the primary Indian musician to receive this honor. It is noteworthy that NASA's number of this asteroid was reversed from the date of birth of Pandit Jasraj.On November 11, 2006, NASA and the International Astronomical Union scientists discovered the 300128 asteroid between Jupiter and Mars and named it after Pandit Jasraj. This asteroid was discovered between Mars and Jupiter.Earlier asteroids were named after Mozart, Beethoven and Tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
