September 18, 2025: Hearty congratulations to our PhD student Simran!! She has received the Young Researcher Award at the E-MRS Fall Meeting 2025 for her work on NiO thin films.
December 25, 2024: Our second paper is accepted in the Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. We have tackled the challenge of retaining bulk-like structural, optical, and magnetic properties in epitaxial NiO thin films. https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-648X/ada337
August 31, 2024: Our very first publication is out in the Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, a review article. The article explores how Raman scattering can be used to probe magnetic excitations, including both magnons and fractionalized excitations, in condensed matter systems. https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-648X/ad75db
August 02, 2024: We have installed our 10 K closed-cycle ultra-low vibration cryostat. This will be used for low-T Raman measurements and electric transport. Look forward playing with it.
April 06, 2023: We have received the BRNS YSRP grant. The grant will partially support the development of a customized Raman spectrometer.
January 04, 2023: Great news, we have received the Core Research Grant from DST, India! Soon we will have a closed-cycle cryostat which will enable us to perform spectroscopy and electric transport experiments at low temperatures.
