Here is the link to my "GameShows" webpage. Basically, this website is the place where it all started.
But in general, it all started back in 2011, while switching channels, I accidentally came across the TV show "Svoya Igra" ("The Own Game" in russian) on the "NTV Mir" channel (the international version of the NTV channel from Russia). It is the russian version of "Jeopardy!". I started watching it and tried not to miss a single episode, even though it aired late at night. Someone had put a link to the GameShows page, with a list of episodes and statistics, into the Wikipedia article. Thanks to him and this list, I learned that the episodes I had been watching were actually reruns from the previous year. So, I started to watch premiere episodes online on the NTV channel website (as it wasn't available on our cable package or satellite TV). The list of episodes was rarely updated, therefore in March 2012, I decided to create an account on GameShows to help keep the table updated. I even did this before the airdates, as episodes were uploaded to the site slightly in advance.
Initially, I focused on international versions of the "The Cube" game show, but also made edits to some other articles. At that time, I learned about that there is something called "The Chase", but I wasn't interested in it. However, again completely by accident, while switching channels this time on satellite TV (it was on January 5, 2016), I came across the final part of an episode of the German version. "Aha, this is something called The Chase," I thought. "Well, let me watch, maybe it is interesting". Of course, it's interesting — in this episode the team won €108,500! I wanted to see details about this episode in the GameShows statistics table. However, only the first six episodes were filled in, and that episode was… 110th. So, I decided to complete the table with a list of "Gefragt-Gejagt" episodes, — and I soon did.
By March 2017, my efforts had updated the original UK version episode list, correcting errors and filling in missing information. Then (why not), I created episode lists for all other versions of The Chase (including Chinese, Turkish, Serbian and Croatian versions). I also created articles about the game shows themselves. Now, they are all available, except for the article of the Norwegian version, because all episodes were only available on the channel's website and it required payment to watch.
Now I compile statistics not only for all versions of "The Chase" worldwide but also create and complete lists of "The Floor", "Tipping Point", and some versions of WWBM episodes. Moreover, I write text reviews (transcripts of questions and answers) of the latest "What? Where? When?" episodes. By the way, announcements of this game can be seen in my Telegram channel. The link to my page on GameShows is at the top of this page. And at the bottom there, you can find everything I have created and/or amended. I believe the list is quite impressive.
By the way, returning to the topic of Norwegian Chase episodes availability. It is almost impossible to watch Serbian and Croatian episodes due to licence conditions. However, thanks to kind people who uploaded recorded episodes to YouTube (despite this is a copyright violation), I was able to gather information on the early episodes. But there were still quite a lot of empty rows. In early 2019, I created two standalone spreadsheets with the aim of posting them on local forums, hoping that someone who had missing information would share it with me. And it happened so: I posted the spreadsheets on appropriate forums, and later people who had collected episodes data contacted me.
But imagine my astonishment when the presenter of the Croatian version mentioned my spreadsheet on the show! He was looking for confirmation if it had ever happened when the chaser beat everyone in the main game, and then one player returned to the final and subsequently won. According to the notes of "this guy from Ukraine", this happened at least three times, as mentioned by Mr. Lokas. Later I contacted someone (here's a news item, by the way), and she invited me to visit the studio in Zagreb. A year and a half later, I went on the second excursion to the Croatian television studio and met the entire production crew. And (this is important) I took the photo that is used at the top of the page.
And in 2024 I created this website to make it easier to find and view tables with statistics… Well, and all other important stuff I've made. And it's all thanks to GameShows!
