The Federation Festival is an annual event that takes place each February at a venue in Rochester. The 2027 Festival will be held on Saturday, February 20 and Sunday, February 21 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester.
Through the Festival Program, students have the opportunity to perform two pieces of leveled repertoire that is selected from a list of approved music and memorized for performance. Each student is assessed by a qualified judge who provides detailed, constructive feedback and rates the performance on a scale from Fair to Superior.
Students earn points based on their rating, and trophies are awarded when certain point levels are reached. Earning the trophy for the first level takes a minimum of three years, teaching students the value of perseverance and long-term goals.
This program is open to students of all instruments, including piano, orchestra, band, harp, organ, voice, and more. We also welcome online students of local teachers to participate, offering them a chance to engage in this enriching musical experience.
