Melissa Wrobel was initiated into the Michigan Epsilon chapter in 2013.
She is the President of Southeastern Michigan Tau Beta PI.
She holds a B.S.E. in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Wayne State University.
Melissa is currently a Lecturer IV in the department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She teaches both first-year and senior/capstone engineering design as well as a biochemical thermodynamics course.
When not teaching, Melissa enjoys camping her way across Michigan’s state park system, playing board games, and cuddling with her two cats, Max and Kirby. She currently resides in Canton, MI.
Tom Allen was inducted into the Michigan Gamma chapter in 1970. He is Vice President of Southeastern Michigan Tau Beta PI.
He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, an M.S. in Computer, information, and control, an MBA all from the University of Michigan.
Once he graduated he worked for GM Research and then a small computer company. After that he formed a small company that did computer systems consulting, specializing in embedded systems. This was followed by work for Ford and then Navistar. He is now retired but still does work in strategic planning and computer consulting.
He is an avid musician playing rhythm and classical guitar and singing in several choirs. He also enjoys sailing and working out. He resides in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Colleen Hill-Stramsak was initiated into the Michigan Epsilon chapter in 1995. She is Secretary of Southeastern Michigan Tau Beta PI.
She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Civil Engineering (Transportation), both from Wayne State University.
Colleen was the Associate/Transportation Department Head with Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc.; from 2002-2023.
Colleen’s hobbies include knitting and photography. Colleen and her husband Steve enjoy traveling, including taking cruises and cuddling with their dog, Boone, and cat, Penny. They currently reside in Clinton Township, MI.
Angie Pyle was initiated as a charter member of the Tennessee Zeta Chapter in 1991. She is Treasurer of Southeastern Michigan Tau Beta PI.
She holds a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a MBA from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business.
Angie is currently a design & release engineer at Ford working on Air Induction Systems. She is also Vice President and CFO of Pyle Consulting Group, Inc. Her 35+ year career experiences include co-op assignments at Saturn Corporation, foreign service assignment in the UK with Ford, various engineering roles at Ford, Visteon, ACH, and quality consulting.
When not working, Angie enjoys sculling on the Huron River in Ann Arbor, playing board games and video games with family and friends, and cross-stitching. Angie resides in Canton, MI with her husband, and is the proud mother of two adult children, who are both engineers.
