Saudi Shura Council tells government to find citizens

Abu Dhabi: The Saudi Shura Council, the country’s advisory body, demanded the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs replace non-Saudis in technical and supervisory jobs with citizens.


The council also pressed for privatising more municipal businesses, including licenses, with the need that their jobs be crammed with Saudis.


In its virtual session chaired by deputy speaker Dr. Abdullah Al Maatani, the council voted for the National Cybersecurity Authority’s developing and training national human resources specialised in cybersecurity, employing them in technical information centers, and developing an index to live the performance of the Government’s electronic systems, and therefore the extent of their achievement of cybersecurity.


The House demanded the National Cybersecurity Authority work to confront criminal behaviors in cyberspace that incite extremism, violence and terrorism.

Saudi Arabia reports 539 new coronavirus cases, 27 deaths

Dubai: Saudi Arabia on Tuesday reported the detection of 539 new coronavirus cases, bringing the entire number of confirmed infections within the Kingdom to 334,187, the Ministry of Health said.


Twenty-seven more people have died from the complications caused by the virus within the past 24 hours, taking the country’s fatality tally to 4,739, Dr. Mohammad Al Abdul Ali, Health Ministry’s spokesperson said during a news conference on Monday.


An additional 696 infected patients have fully recovered from the deadly disease, pushing the entire number of recovered cases to 318,542, with the recovery rate hitting a whopping 95.31 per cent.


With the sharp drop by new infections, active cases have also drastically fallen to 10,906, including 1,004 that are critical.


Jeddah reported the very best daily cases with 61, followed by Mecca with 53 and Medina with 46.The remaining cases were detected in several cities and governorates across the dominion .
