Welcome to the Sellwood Middle School PEAK Program

The Panther Enrichment and Academic Knowledge (PEAK) Program is a series of after school classes open to all Sellwood Middle School (SMS) students. Most classes run on a 9 or 10 week session schedule in the fall, winter, and spring, and require a fee that is used to cover class supplies, instructor fees, and classroom rental fees. Scholarships are available as the PEAK goal is to include every SMS student. There is always opportunity to contribute to the scholarship fund if you desire. If you are interested in a scholarship for a student, please email the peak coordinator at email below.

We launched a new registration system for PEAK called 6Crickets. Through 6Crickets you will register directly with the class provider and make payments through their Stripe payment system (we will no longer be using SchoolPay for PEAK classes). If you are a first time user to 6Crickets, you will need to create an account for your student.

PEAK Programs for Fall Registration

PEAK registration is underway at 6crickets.com! The PEAK Program is a series of in-person after-school classes open to all Sellwood students. The PEAK program is independent of Sellwood Middle School and is under the jurisdiction of the PTA.

AI: Intro to Machine Learning Explore the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)! Discover how AI works by learning key AI and ML concepts such as neural networks, computer vision, and image recognition. By the end of the course, you'll understand how AI and ML work, know how to use AI tools for image and story generation, and have the skills to code your own AI-driven Scratch projects. Tuesdays 9/29-12/8 (no class 11/24), 4:15-5:15, $259

Electronic Music Club is an exciting, hands-on class where students dive into the world of music production! Using real music production software, students will create their own beats, craft melodies, and experiment with digital instruments. Wednesdays 9/29-12/9 (no class 10/21, 11/11, 11/25) 4:15-5:15, $261

Sellwood Marimbas The Sellwood Marimba Ensemble is a group of middle schoolers playing incredible music from Africa, arrangements of popular tunes, and new music written by members! Come to learn the basics or to build your skills - and definitely come to rock out! Already doing band or choir? Wonderful! So do a lot of us, and we work closely to ensure there are no conflicts between programs. Thursdays 4:15-5:15 to start - may shift to Tuesdays later in fall, still finalizing dates.

PEAK/RED CROSS BABYSITTING TRAINING &

PEAK has secured three babysitting certification training dates with the Red Cross! These trainings will be offered from

9am-3pm on Thursday, October 29th; Friday, October 30th; and Thursday, April 8th.
