SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2021

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) prescribes the SSC CGL 2021 eligibility criteria that applicants must fulfil to become eligible to take the exam. As part of the eligibility conditions, candidates have to satisfy requirements related to age limit, educational qualification, and nationality, etc. To become eligible to appear for SSC CGL 2021 eligibility criteria, candidates must have completed their graduation and should be between the age group of 18 to 30.

Before filling the SSC CGL application form, candidates must fulfil the following eligibility norms:

Nationality Criteria

A candidate must be either Indian Citizen or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee (who moved with an intention to permanently settle in India before 1962) or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention to permanently settle in India.

Age Limit Criteria

• The lower and upper limit of age varies post-wise.

• Applicants’ age mentioned in the 10th/12th certificates will be considered.

• The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the age limit for the post of Tax Assistant (under CBEC Group C). Earlier the age limit was 20 to 27 years, however, now the age limit for this post has been revised to 18 to 27 years

Candidates applying for the various posts need to have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university at the time of applying. The age requirements are between 20 and 30 years The age limits may vary depending on the position applied. For instance, the position for Inspector of Central Bureau of Narcotics which had an age range from 18 to 27 years, was extended to 30 years in September 2018^] The application fee for 2017 is Rs. 100. All women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee.

Structure

The examination has several Tiers which are conducted over different days with results posted after each Tier. Previous exams also included an interview tier, but following a government order, interviews have been dispensed off for all non-gazetted posts in the central government as of 1 January 2016. A computer proficiency test or a skill test was also added as a Tier for some posts. There are four major tiers for the 2018 exam.

Tier I: Preliminary

The Tier I exam consists of a written objective multiple-choice exam with four sections, covering the subjects of:

• General Intelligence and Reasoning

• General Awareness

• Quantitative Aptitude

• English Comprehension

The exam was typically scored with maximum 50 Marks per section for a total of 200 Marks.^[ The latest versions of this exam such as with 2018 have been conducted online.

Based on results from Tier I, qualified candidates can then take the Tier II and Tier III exams.

Tier II: Mains Exam

Also known as the Mains Exam, the Tier II exam consists of written objective multiple-choice exam, in four sections (also called "Papers"), covering the subjects of:

• Quantitative Aptitude

• English Language and Comprehension

• Statistics

• General Studies, which is subdivided into:

  • Finance & Accounting

  • Economics & Governance.

The exam was typically scored with maximum 200 Marks per section. Most positions required the candidate to take only the first two sections (Paper-I: Quantitative Aptitude, Paper-II: English Language and Comprehension), but certain positions require the third or fourth section. The latest versions of this exam such as the 2018 edition have been conducted online.^]

Tier III exam: Descriptive Paper

A pen-and-paper "offline" exam in which candidates are to do writing in the form of essay writing and letter writing, and sometimes precis and application writing. The exam can be done in English or Hindi.^[12]

Tier IV exam: Data Entry Skill Test / Computer Proficiency Test

In 2016, a fourth tier was added with two possible exams depending on the positions applied:

• Data Entry Speed Test (DEST): candidates enter data at the rate of 2000 key presses in 15 minutes. This is mainly for positions such as Tax Assistant. (Central Excise & Income Tax)

• Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): covering the topics of word processing, spreadsheets, and making slides.

SC conducts the online examination of recruitment in CPO (central police organisation) for the post of SI (Sub Inspector) in Delhi Police, SI (Sub Inspector) in CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces), and ASI (Assistant Sub Inspector) in CISF (Central Industrial Security Force). I

SSC CPO 2017 Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: The minimum age required for this post is 20 years and the maximum age should not exceed 25 years.

• Educational Qualifications: Candidate must possess graduation degree in any discipline from an authorized University or any equivalent degree recognized as such by the Central Government.

• Physical Standard Test: This section involves the time taken in the long jump, high jump, 100 meters race & shot put.

• Medical Standard: The candidate should be without wearing glasses, and the minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes

SSC CPO Exam Pattern

The SSC CPO Exam Pattern has 4 stages-

1. Paper I

2. Physical Test

3. Paper-II

4. Medical Examination

All these above stages/sections are mandatory.

The exam pattern for SSC CPO Paper I is as follows:

• As per the paper pattern of CPO examination, both papers will have multiple-choice questions.

• Candidates can expect a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in both the papers.

• Candidates who qualify in Paper I will be allowed to appear for Physical Test.

• Paper-II will only be appeared by candidates who clear the Physical Test.

• Paper-II will be followed by Medical Examination.

SSC MTS Exam is a national level exam held for recruitment of personnel in General Group-C Central Service non-ministerial and non-gazetted posts in various departments, ministries, and offices of the Government of India.

SSC MTS recruitment is organised by the Staff Selection Commission for various posts such as:

• Peon

• Gardner

• Daftary

• Jamadar

• Junior Gestetner Operator

• Chowkidar

• Safaiwala, etc.

SSC MTS Eligibility

The SSC MTS eligibility criteria are the conditions determined by the SSC; which the candidates are required to fulfill mandatorily to be eligible for the SSC Multi Tasking Staff examination.

Candidates willing to appear for SSC MTS 2020 examination must meet the following eligibility requirements:

SSC MTS eligibility in terms of Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, either/or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugee settled in India before January 1, 1962, or any person of Indian origin.

Candidates are required to present the Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Indian Government (if he/she belongs to a country other than India i.e. Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Pakistan, Burma, etc.)

SSC MTS Eligibility in terms of Educational Qualification

Candidates willing to appear for SSC MTS 2020 examination must possess a pass certificate of matriculation or an equivalent examination from a government recognized board as on August 1, 2020.

In case any candidate does not possess the qualifying examination before the closing date of application form receipt, that candidate is not permitted to apply.

SSC MTS Age Limit & Relaxation

Candidates who wish to appear for SSC MTS 2020 exam must be not less than 18 years of age and not more than 25 years of age as on August 1, 2020. i.e.

• SSC MTS Lower Age limit – 18 years

• SSC MTS Upper Age Limit – 25 years

However, for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as PwD, SC/ST and OBC categories, there is an upper age limit relaxation being given by the commission.

SSC MTS Salary

SSC MTS is a Group C non-gazetted, general Central Government service. It is a non-ministerial post with pay band 1(5200 – 20200) + the Grade Pay of 1800 rupees.

The salary of SSC MTS is revised after the 7th Pay Commission application. Currently, the in-hand salary of SSC Multitasking Staff is approximately 18,000/ to 22,000/ per month.

SSC MTS 2021 Exam Pattern

The examination of SSC MTS 2021 will be conducted in 3 different levels: Paer-1, Paper-2 (Descriptive Test) & Paper-3 (Skill Test). Paper-1 is an online exam which is objective multiple choice question type. Paper-2 is a pen and paper mode of examination which includes a descriptive paper in English or any other language listed in the government policies. Paper-III is a skill test that needs to be taken as per candidate's convenience.
