Districts who participate in the Social-Emotional Learning for All project learn how to support student’s social-emotional development through the College and Career Competencies. There are several options for educators who wish to implement College and Career Competency instruction.

Our professional development series is led by recognized College and Career Competency trainers and includes four, on-site or virtual training sessions and two coaching days in which individual or small groups of teachers receive personalized coaching and support.

Individuals, schools, and districts can also utilize a variety of other resources to support their implementation of competency instruction. The map below shows how educators across Missouri have accessed the resources. Recognized trainers are available to provide high quality professional development to individuals, building teams, or districts. The assessments are free and anyone can set up an account to administer the assessment to students. For more information, go to our student survey site. The lessons are able to be downloaded for a small fee and can be accessed here.

Most Regional Professional Development Centers (RPDC’s) maintain a recognized trainer who has undergone an intensive recognition process in order to support your district in implementing the College and Career Competencies. Our recognized trainers will provide your district with high-quality, interactive professional development and coaching. They will also assist educators in practicing research-based instructional strategies, administering and analyzing competency assessments, and developing plans for sustaining competency instruction.

The College and Career Competency Framework includes free assessments that can be accessed by any educator. By creating an account, educators can administer the computer-based competency assessments to their students. Educators can also purchase and download the competency lessons that contain instructional activities and options for embedding practice of the social-emotional competencies in any classroom.

Districts can choose to implement College and Career Competency instruction on a smaller scale in which a team of 6-8 educators participate in the professional development series and coaching throughout the year.

Many districts have implemented the College and Career Competencies on a larger scale through district-wide implementation. During district-wide implementation includes multi-year professional development and coaching for all staff.
