Soteria's creation was an unstable one, even with the combined efforts of all the mages. Soteria wasn't supposed to be a bottomless pit with floating islands, it was supposed to be full land; however, the magic wasn't strong enough for the land to stay together so eventually it fell apart, forming what it is seen as today.
And because of the magic failing, time and space here may work differently.

Because of the pieces of land becoming floating islands, there is a blank, blue void below. However, you needn't worry, as for whatever reason, if you happen to fall off the islands, you will get instantly teleported back onto the island. No one has ever been injured or killed by falling.

While efforts were great, their abilities to maintain the familiar flora and fauna, from their time on Earth struggled, and thanks to some of their magic seeping out into the lands of Soteria, the flora and fauna began some drastic changes.
No longer do the plants and animals look like their ordinary Earth counterparts, they now had a mind and appearance of their own. Which in turn, bloomed a new breed of life in Soteria. So familiar, yet so strange at the same time.
An Akaiiro who left the safety of Soteria to explore the world beyond: Earth.
Reporting back to her people and the council, she is tasked with gathering information on the “Humans” that inhabit their old home.

Due to her pure white hair and fur at birth, she was taken in and raised as a symbol to the people of Soteria that their goddess Iris is still with them.
