Safety Engineering Interest Group (SEIG) was established in 2019 under the auspices of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

The main focus of SEIG is to facilitate research in the field of Process Safety, Fire Safety and other engineering safety related research. SEIG aims to be the national leader and to be internationally renowned in the research of safety engineering.

The group comprises of experts from diverse engineering backgrounds and is supported by strong analytical, computational and experimental facilities.
